What Would Be The Best Exercise To Add To Build Chest Muscle And Definition?
![]() |
Right now I’m doing alternating sets of pushups and decline bench presses. I want to add another set or two of a different exercise to that though. So, what might be best.
1. 2 sets of incline bench
2. 2 sets of dumbbell flys
3. 1 set of each

add 3 sets of 10 pushups with your hands on a basketball or medicine ball..
I wouldn’t add dumbbell flies until you have the level of muscle mass you’re looking for. To add muscle mass I would use the three basic chest exercises:
1. Flat Bench
2. Incline Bench
3. Decline Bench
You may substitute dumbbells for barbells on the benches to change things up, prevent your body from plateauing.
As far as definition goes, that’s really more of a diet thing. To get the definition you need to reduce your body fat levels.
If you’d like some pointers on technique for the benches, here’s a couple articles I’ve written on them:

2 sets of incline bench, because push ups and decline bench target sternal part of pectoralis muscle, and incline clavicular part, you need to train all muscle parts.
