What’s The Best Way To Stay Focused On A Fitness Regimine?
![]() |
I usually do great with dieting (not necessarily limiting a lot of food, but eating good, healthy stuff with lots of protein). Lately, though I’ve been doing terrible, eating things I’d never usually eat. I don’t know what the deal is, and I’m not saying I have some sort of disorder or whatever, but it’s sort of hard to quit eating bad again and stick to a healthy diet. What’s something I could try? Maybe some sort of idea that would keep me from eating crap.

Get your body composition (percent body fat) tested every two weeks. Sometimes, especially if people who are on a fitness regimen are weighing themselves frequently, it may be discouraging to find that they are actually gaining weight. This is not always a bad thing. Muscle is actually 15 percent more dense than body fat, which is why it is so much more important to track progress with body composition than body weight. It will really motivate you to find that after eating well and working hard, your body fat percentage is decreasing and your lean muscle tissue percentage is on the rise.
A couple other things–don’t make available to yourself any foods that you will regret eating.
Eat dried fruit (I find dried apples and cherries are amazing) when you want a snack.
Also, and maybe most importantly, it is definitely alright to consume foods that have fat in them, but there is a way to be smart about it. If you are desiring a food that has a lot of fat (pizza, burgers, whatever it may be), eat it within 30 minutes after a very tough strength workout. Fat is actually the easiest and most readily available material for the body to use to replenish depleted muscle energy. During a heavy resistance workout, you will deplete nearly all readily available muscle energy, and after your workout, any fat that you eat will go directly to restore this muscle energy.
Good luck, and feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Do not go on fast or starvation diet.
Nothing other than water in between.
No special diet, call it by any name or program helps as one cannot adopt them on permanent basis. Diet pills are chemicals and per se bad and shud be avoided unless the doc considers it necessary looking at ur condition.
Take light exercises and brisk walks for 30 min.regularly preferably on empty stomach and twice a day. Do not overdo.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time and hassle free.
Be patient and not in a hurry.
U cannot choose spots for reduction.
This schedule can be adopted on permanent basis to lead a healthy life and maintain weight.
A good personal trainer will keep you focussed. My trainer has created a logbook that details your nutrition and workout regime. It tracks your progress simply, which helps me greatly.
I think documentation is very important to measure your progress and give you feedback on what works for you.
buy a calender and make a fitness schedule. mark your accomplishments on the calender. involve a friend, a competitive friend that will keep you on track. start out easy, and progress harder later. believe in yourself.
You could try turning it into a competition. Find a friend with the same problem and place a bet. Or compete with yourself and put a dollar in a jar every time you eat something you shouldn’t.
Find foods that are healthy that you also enjoy. You can also still eat foods that may not be the best for you, but cut back in portion size and balance it with better choices.
