Which Is Better ? To Exercise Everyday The Same Way Or To Do A Different Exercise On Alternate Days?

Which is better to do? I have read in books and heard some say that it is better for fitness and your body to not do the same exercise everyday. That you do strength training one day and arobic exercise the next and then back to the strength training on the following day to give your muclses time to stritch and then heal. Or if you don’t do arobic but not to do a whole body work out everyday, to do upper body then next day do lower body and back and forth like that.
But some say walk every day or do a total body workout every day. Which is best. And please don’t say ” whatever works best for you”. I am asking for what you think works best for you. So please tell me which and why ( if you know)
Thanks so much -in advance.

Depends on what you want.
If you are working out to condition or to mantain your condition, you can do the same every day. This is good to train your muscles to perform better with cardio.
If you are targeting a certain group of muscles or want to develop more, alternate exercises and muscle groups. Why? When you exercise, tiny microscopical tears form in them (that’s why it hurts and burns). You have to let them rest for at least 24 hours for new muscle cells to form, new muscle which will be stronger. This is why you alternate.
Something else that can happen is that after some 3 months of doing the same routine, your body will be more efficient and it might not be enough, so you either add something new to the routine, or change it on alternate days. And it also keeps boredom away.
Let me suggest this workout routine for you called HST.
It is backed by science, due to their workout schedule I am doing a hybrid of it.
But I still see good results from it.
i prefer alternating, especially if I work out legs one day and put more focus on arms the next. That way the legs get some rest but I am still getting some work out done.
Alternate- upper body one night- lower body next night and so on!,
Muscles need to rest to build themselves,
just as your body goes to sleep- to grow
