Its impossible to tell. If you do notice a difference, its probably just a fluxuation in water weight, which will come back. To burn “1/4 of a pound of fat in a workout” is impossible to judge.
First off,1/4 a pound of fat is roughly 875 calories, which is 3 hours of walking up stairs for someone who weighs 150lbs. The more you weigh, themore burned and vice versa.
Regular walking / treadmill burns less than 200 calories an hour. So you see, number 1 that’s a lot of calories.
If you weigh more and have more muscle, then you’ll burn a lot more than that, but the first thing you burn when working out is your glycogen stores that are already in the muscle. Then, once depleted it starts in on the fat, or if you exercise for too long it burns your muscle for energy.
So, its impossible to tell. For the first week or 2 you’ll gain 1-2 lbs, but your waist will shrink if you’re working out more and eating the same/less. Keep to that routine and your body, once built for sustaining that heavier burden of exercise, will start burning more calories all the time and then you’ll start losing weight.
Don’t be discouraged if you gain the first week or 2. MEASURE YOUR WAIST, around your body at your belly button. And measure that once a week. That’s where you’ll see results on fat percentage without doing BMI, water tests, etc…

when it comes to burning fat and building muscle, you cant really tell the day that you work out that you’ve burned fat or built muscle, maybe if you worked out for a week or two then you’d be able to see a change. the fat percentage will go down depending on your weight, for example if you way only 90 pounds with little body fat and you burn a 1/4 pound of fat it wont really make a difference in your fat percentage because you only have a little body fat to start with.

  • This question depens on what you are eating, what you are drinking, what you weigh now, what you weighed when you started …. and what your work out is. None of which were included. What is your BMI and what are you working towards. You more than likely are not going to see massive results right off the bat. It usually takes 90 days to see results.

It takes time, your body fat will decrease gradually,
If you have a proper diet and cardio, you’ll be able to notice a minor difference in 4-5 days, but for drastic changes it takes more time
