Do Those Teleshopping Fitness Belts Really Make You Thinner?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

There is a belt that vibrates the fat. I am thinking of buying one, but I wanna know did anyone else use such a thing?
Does it really make you lose inches from your belly and ties?

What they do is make your muscles contract as if you were doing exercise. Have you ever had (or seen) electrotherapy done, where the pads are placed on the muscles to contract and relax them (physical therapists and chiropractors use them)? It’s pretty much the same type of thing.
My best guess is that, although regular use of it might tone the muscles underneath the fat, without doing some cardio too you won’t lose much fat. There are lots of overweight people with muscles in pretty good shape underneath the fat.
Also, knowing what those things feel like, to me it would be pretty distracting to have my body doing crunches that I couldn’t control. I’d rather just do the real exercise when I have the time to concentrate on it – but that’s just me.
