Fat Loss 4 Idiots

the exercise that you are most efficient at performing is what’s best for you. most people can run substantially longer at a higher intensity than they can swim. both are obviously great forms of exercise and in terms of optimal health and fitness cross training will always bring the best results. the diet has a much greater overall effect on the endocrine system than does exercise. that being the case you need to make changes in your diet to achieve the best results.

Although swimming technically burns more calories than running (when done properly and at the same intensity), as far as fat burning is concerned, running is actually more efficient than swimming. This is mainly due to the weight bearing nature of running as compared to swimming, and the fact that swimming uses primarily the smaller muscle groups in the arms, which will burn more blood sugar than fat, rather than running, which uses the large leg muscles, which burn fat better. However, if you can include using fins in your swimming workouts and perhaps swimming some butterfly (if you know how), that would greatly increase the fat burning potential of a pool workout. Exercising in the morning before breakfast when your blood sugar is low, and/or consuming caffeine about 30 minutes before your workout can also kick your body into slightly faster fat burning mode, regardless of the type of exercise. Of course, the single most important thing to take into account, is that you can perform the activities without injuring yourself.

Swimming is probably more effective. The water lets you work your muscles without feeling the full weight of your body. It also works more of your muscles, giving you a more effective workout over all. Swimming also doesn’t put as much stress on your joints like running does.

I’d go for swimming if i were you man it uses almost every single muscle in your body and its less boring then running :D

  • Swimming. It uses almost all of the muscles in your body, so it burns more calories than running.

  • I am soooo splendiferous:

swimming, cause your whole body is moving.
