Weight Loss Through Counting Fat Grams?

I’m getting married in just over 8 weeks and I’m trying to lose a bit of weight. I eat sensibly and I have started exercising as well but in addition to this I want to count my fat gram intake but I have never done this before.
What foods should I avoid and what can I eat without worrying? Also is there a certain amount of grams I should have in a day or is there a rule with regards to how many fat grams something have per 100 grams?

    I read a book once that said if your are counting fat grams dont go over 30 grams in a day total.

    count saturated fat and stay below 15 grams. Go to opera.com and she may still have a list up of ingredients to avoid like enriched flower and high fructose corn syrup. She did a show about 2 month ago on it. You can email her show if the list is not on the site. If you count the fat and avoid the ingredients you will notice a difference, but as with all diets effects take awhile so 8 weeks is not a lot of time to notice much.

    Generally, it is recommended that fat consumption doesn’t account for more than 30% of your total calories. Since 1 fat gram consists of 9 calories, if you had 2000 calories, you should have no more than 66 grams of fat.
    Now, if you are trying to lose weight, you can help yourself by avoiding fat. But that’s not the total answer you are looking for.
    The bottom line is that you want to consume less calories than you eat. Technically you could lose weight on McDonalds fries if your total calories come up less than what you burn.(You arterties probably would complain, but it would be possible).
    Use a website such as http://www.fitday.com to monitor your calories / activities. That is the best way to weight. In addition, increase your activity level… this revs up your metabolism and burns more calories.
    Be patient, the results will come though if you become active and watch your calorie intake. Strive to consume 500 calories less per day than you burn ( remember, 3500 calories equals 1 pound).
    As far as healthy foods, start reading labels and educate yourself. There’s plenty of magazines out there that offer sound nutritional advice: Women’s Health, Shape, Fitness, Muscle and Fitness Hers, and even some of the men’s health magazines. Check out the book store and see what trips your trigger.

    hi, I think for women the recommended daily fat amount is 70gs but i dont know aboout loosing weight on cutting down on fat grams, but i know that cutting down on saturated fats helps reduce weight, i was on weight watchers and thats all about cutting down the amount of saturated fats and callories and point counting. but it is really easy all you do is work out how much points there are in the food you are going to at and it reallly worked i lost a stone in 3 months. If you go to a meeting they will tell you what to do

    Stay away from starchy foods like potatoes, pastas, and rice. Eat a lot of veggies because they are mostly water and it takes more calories to digest them than they have in them.
