Why Does The Weight Loss Program Discourage Exercise?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

I’m on this weight loss program and they say not to exercise too much since I’m only eating 1200 calories. why do they discourage much needed exercise? Isn’t it healthy?

  • live for today:

they say a body needs 900 calories (minimum) to function properly. if you are burning more than 300 calories in exercise, there’s your reason…
i would suggest you increase your caloric intake by how much you plan to burn off (on the treadmill/elliptical/whatever)
consult your trainer and tell them that you want to lose weight but you also want to be fit. compensate with food what you lose in the gym!
    GOOD LUCK

  • wendy_da:

maybe your caloric intake is too low to fuel exercise. every diet plan I’ve read includes eating well and exercising every day. how much is too much? walk at least 30 minutes every day.

  • BabeHart:

Is the program you are on monitored by a doctor? If not, speak to your doc about taking in that few calories (that’s borderline starvation).
Chances are the program doesn’t promote exercise is because it is so low cal that the body cannot afford to burn the extra calories because it’s barely taking in enough ‘fuel’ to perform daily functions anyway.
You’ve got to feed your body, to be able to work it…up your cals to 1500 and then you can workout several days a week (I shoot for at least 1 hour a day, at least 5 days a week).

  • arenaima:

It is healthy to exercise. But, you should probably consult your doctor

  • Suzie:

Because if you exercise then you would lose weight…then you wouldn’t need to give them your money! You can’t buy a thin body…you have to work for it. Good Luck

  • YOU GOTTA MOVE TO IMPROVE!:

Yes it’s very important to exercise when trying to lose weight. One can not achieve any lasting results with diet alone. I like the 1200 calories a day but your body will quickly adapt to that and weight loss will slow dramatically without 30 to 40 minutes of exercise.
