Will Weight Loss Decrease Or Eliminate Unwanted Facial Hair?
![]() |
Coarse hair grows on my chin and I HATE it! It makes me feel so unfeminine. To make matters worse, I also have hair bumps. I’ve been reading that weight loss can restore regular hormone levels. I don’t know if I have too much testosterone or not, but if I lose lots of weight will my chin hair stop growing?

No, that will only add hair.
Do not shave as it makes the hair even courser/darker.
There are many this you can try; facial wax strips, bleaching, laser hair removal, mechanical devices that will pluck/tweeze, and prescription creams. Talk to your hairdresser, pharmacist or doctor. My friend prefers waxing; I think she does it about once a month. Good luck. -
That is true, but only if you loose weight correctly. Anorexics actually grow hair all over there bodies, everywhere people don’t want hair to be, this is because it’s your body’s natural defense to stay warm in starvation mode. But if you loose weight by exercising and not starving it will help regulate hormones and stop excess growing of facial hair.

Chin hair on ladies is actually quite common, just usually well hidden…yes its awful and I have some too…very embarassing…
I have read of PCOS sufferers having chin hair…it may be an issue that can be fixed for some girls.
Weight has never affected my hair…its just go worse as I aged…bad genes is what I am told…Laser hair removal works wonders and I highly recommend it. -
Don’t lose a alot of weight if you’re already in a healthy weight range. If you’re not, then go ahead so you’ll get 2 in 1.
