The definition of a starvation diet is to reduce your daily caloric intake by more than 50%. You may think that hunger will lead to rapid weight loss. Initially, you may lose weight but unfortunately, the body reacts to the very low caloric intake, using its own reserves to provide energy. The first reserves to be used are carbohydrates stored as glycogen, it's not a huge reserve so that it is depleted during the first hours of famine.
