At 500 calories a day your body will likely go into starvation mode, slow your metabolism and actually defeat the purpose of reducing calories in an attempt to lose weight. It’s not a healthy idea. If you are trying to lose weight, try a diet more in the 1000-1100 calorie range at least.
I personaly did Nutrisystem for the last 8 months. Their men’s diet program had me averaging 1300-1400 calories a day, the women’s program called for about 1100-1200 calories a day. I lost 70 pounds in 8 months with little change in physical activity.
Before you really consider doing a 500 calorie a day diet I suggest you discuss with your physician.
Not sure, but 500 calories doesn’t seem like it would get you through a day…. let alone have the energy to gain muscle or excercise!
Why not try closer to 1000? Even 1500 calories a day should be fine (and still see results) if you are active.
you can’t gain muscle on that type of diet. 500 calories is not even enough to keep up with your daily demands doing nothing. just eat sensible, no fad diets, and exercise a little more. you don’t have to do anything that drastic.
