The word diet is assumed to mean a constraint specific food to lose weight. However, the true meaning of the diet in nutritional terms is defined as the sum of food consumed. The meaning of the word diet has been distorted over the years, giving a misunderstanding. People have been dieting, the tightness of the guidelines for certain foods, losing weight for decades. However, specific diets started popping up and have become the new trend to lose weight. Over the past ten years we have seen the rise ofAtkins Diet, South Beach Diet, cabbage soup diet, grapefruit diet cookies and diet and macrobiotic diet and companies like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, weight loss and promotes their diet programs. Although you can lose weight with any of these diets (restricting calories), in reality all these diets are bunk.
