Just a hypothetical, you have lets say a 25 year old man who has a fast metabolism because of his age so weight is not an issue. If he goes to the gym and does a full fitness routine consistently but eats the average american diet, fried foods, processed foods, and drinks alcohol and soda multiple times per week. Would his fitness level be effected like his resting heart rate, ability to make strength gains, and recovery time? And if it does how and why?

When Dieting How Much Weight Loss Is Actual Fat Loss Vs Muscle Loss?

I am talking about typical calorie-reduced dieting (nothing extreme) and am looking for what is the average percentage of fat and muscle loss assuming no weight bearing exercises are involved in the weight loss plan.
I also know that a lot of water is lost the first few weeks of dieting, but please skip over that.
