Using a 1800 Calorie Diet to Lose Unwanted Body Fat
Is a 1800 calorie diet the best way for you to lose unwanted body fat?
This obviously will depend on how many calories your body requires on a daily basis to keep functioning properly. In this article I will not give examples of food with calories. There are too many resources online that provide this information.
What I want to cover in this article is something that is a little more important than just numbers.
The reason for this is simple: Most people try to lose weight using dieting without exercise. And because of this the failure rate is 99.9% when it come to creating irreversible, long term weight loss.
You can use a 1800 calorie diet approach if your daily maintenance calorie intake is 2000 calories. But this can only be done temporary. If you maintain this 1800 calorie intake your body will adapt and your metabolism will slow down to compensate for the 200 calorie deficit in a very short time.
If you want to reach your ideal weight, and then to make sure that it never creeps back on then you will have to use exercise on a regular basis. It doesn’t have to be something complicated. It can be walking outside on a daily basis until you burn off all the unwanted body fat that you currently have.
This is why it is better to burn off unwanted body fat by walking every day, and eating the amount of calories that your body requires to function properly on a daily basis.
By the way…once you create a lean, healthy body that you can truly be proud of, the exercise can’t stop. If you have a slow metabolism, and were born with an endomorph dominant body type, then you will always have to watch what you eat and you will always have to use physical activity to help your body burn as many calories as possible on a regular basis.
This is the only way to create permanent fat loss. Everything else will only work in the short term and this is why simply focusing on using a 1800 calorie diet, or any other type of diet does not produce end-results that most people are happy with for the rest of their lives.
The interesting thing is that I currently have a daily maintenance level of 2800 calories but I consume 3500 to 3600 calories every day. And since I walk every day, and use resistance training three times per week I have been able to maintain my ideal body weight of 175 pounds for many years.
