The master cleanse diet was created in the 1940s by Stanley Burroughs. In 2005, Peter Glickman wrote a book and included the master cleanse diet. Burroughs and Glickman agree that the toxins come from unhealthy eating habits, no exercise, and a negative attitude. The lemonade diet is designed to help a person get rid of the toxins that has accumulated in the body.
The master cleanse is a fast that is to be use for body cleansing. It gives an individual the opportunity to start fresh. This diet rids the body of the bad toxins and replaces it with loads of energy, weight loss and clearer skin.
Americans have dealt with their share of bad diets, but that doesn’t stop them from using diets like this one. Many people feel that it is the only way for them to lose weight. It is stated that is not the healthiest way to lose weight. It has also been reported that the weight that is lost is usually regained as soon as the individual returns to solid foods.
If a person stops eating and don’t take in many calories, they are going to lose weight anyway. Using this diet can cause problems that are not easily dealt with. The lemonade diet does not provide the necessary nutrients that the body needs. There are individuals who feel that the lemonade mixture provides what is necessary to maintain body functions until the end of the diet.
There are individuals who believe that this is a diet that will cause a person metabolism to slow down. It is said that this diet will send one’s body into starvation mode. Once the body believes it is starving, it will begin to turn everything into fat for storage. It is also reported that exercise is not included as part the diet because the person would find it very hard to do.

How To – The Lemonade Diet – Cleanse With Care
The lemonade diet is known by many names. The maple syrup diet, the lemon diet, the lemon cleanse and the lemonade cleanse are just a few of the names. Peter Glickman brought Stanley Boroughs cleansing diet back to the front burner by using it in his book. Glickman released a book and a CD with references to the Master Cleanse diet.
Stanley Boroughs believed that the body is loaded with toxins that cause physical and mental sicknesses. He also believes that if a person used the master cleanse it would eliminate those problems. Boroughs believed that his lemonade mixture would be quite beneficial to all who used it.
The lemonade diet has a downside that each individual must be warned about. The side effects that are caused by the elimination of solid foods can be hard to handle. Cravings seem to be one side effect that is reported more than any others. It is Glickman’s belief that when a person has warm bowel movements they are getting rid of the toxins that caused the cravings. It is stated that one should be sure to use the salt water rinses and the laxative tea to avoid constipation. The tea and the salt water rinses are to help maintain regular bowel movements.
Another side effect is tiredness. Boroughs and Glickman believes that the tiredness comes from the lemonade diet battling the toxins that have accumulated in the body. They suggested that once the toxins were eliminated through warm excretion, the tiredness would go away. It has been stated that the warmer the excretion, the more toxic the toxins been expelled.
It has been reported that some individuals have experienced mood swings. It has been determined that these mood swings are likely the psychological side effects of not being able to eat solid food. Participants tend to exhibit these symptoms until they begin to eat solid foods again.
It is recommended that at the end of the lemonade diet, the dieter should slowly ease back into solid foods. It is best to start with orange or grapefruit juice for 2-3 days and then try some homemade soup before moving onto other solid food. Mr. Glickman recommends raw food as the best course to follow after the master cleanse.
