Weight Loss Tips – How to Lose Weight Permanently
Knowing how to lose weight is all about getting a happy balance in three main areas of your life - watching what you eat and eating mainly healthy food (unhealthy food is still Ok so long as you don’t eat it all the time), getting plenty of exercise (exercising for 20 – 30 minutes at least three times a week) and having a positive self image (feeling good about yourself regardless of what shape you are or how much you weight).
Our Feelings Make Us Fat
The truth is that our feelings can lead us to become overweight. Of course junk food, a high-fat diet, lack of exercise, poverty or genetics all play their part too. But the reality is that many of us use food to fulfill our emotional needs. I know I did, and at my lowest ebb, when I thought I would have to struggle with my weight forever, I even considered suicide. Only the thought of the paramedics looking critically at my fat dead body prevented me. It’s shocking to think that vanity saved my life, but that was the case.
The issue of fat is a serious one. The obesity crisis is costing the taxpayer millions of dollars/pounds a year (depending on where you live), but it also costs us in terms of lost living. It scares me to see the fast rise in the number of obese teenagers, along with the increase in stomach-stapling operations, and the lack of counseling back-up. We are led to believe that overweight people are lazy or stupid. After all, it’s obvious, isn’t it? You just do more exercise and eat less food and then you’ll no longer be fat. If only it were that simple.
My weight gain, like many others’, was a symptom of a much deeper problem. My complete lack of self-esteem and confidence (most of it learnt from my mum’s behavior towards herself); the fact that I hated my body because of the bullying; a lack of friends and extreme loneliness; the beliefs I held about myself and the world: the food habits I had learnt and the love/hate relationship with food that had developed as a result – all these factors contributed to my subconscious use of food as a means of comfort, control and pleasure,
Once my eyes were opened in my twenties, I set out on a journey of personal discovery, armed with some important questions:
- Why was I so successful in all other areas of my life, but had failed so miserably in this one?
- How could I gain back the personal power that I’d let slip away over the years?
- What did I need to change about what I was doing?
- What did I need to change about the way I was thinking?
- How could I use the way my body worked to my advantage?
- What beliefs did I need to change?
- How could I prevent others from going through what I had?
- Where did I want to end up?
My job as a health consultant, my articles and my websites are the result of the learning curves I went through to get to where I am today, as well as the work that I’ve done with my clients to help them achieve their dreams. Inevitably, I had to go down some blind alleys before I reached my current position, but I have consolidated everything you need to know so that you can do it more quickly and enjoyably than I did.

Weight Loss Tips – Why Restrictive Diets Don’t Work
Why Diets Don’t Work.
You wouldn’t be reading this article if diets worked. Diets can’t, and don’t, work. Here’s why: Pause for a moment. If all these so called quick weight loss diets actually worked as promised, then the current problem we have with obesity would not be anywhere near as bad as it is now – if it existed at all. Instead, what have we got? Well, the hard facts of the matter are that over 60 percent (that 2 out of every 3 adults) are overweight or obese.
Even more worryingly, the problem is on the increase. The obesity epidemic has increased more than 4 times during the last 3 decades. At any point in time, 20 percent of women (that’s one in five) are on some kind of diet; and frighteningly enough the figure for teenage girls on a diet is almost the same. More worryingly, girls as young as nine actively consider dieting. In the US alone. 45 per cent of women are on a diet on any given day. Does that sound like resounding success to you?
Diets are so ineffective in controlling weight that around 95 per cent of people who go on one end up just as fat a year later (and sometimes fatter too). Around half of the people who embark on a diet quit within a few weeks.
Here’s my friend’s story:
I’m 39 and have been obese for at least ten years. I am now 17 stone 3 lb (110,4 kg). I’ve tried every diet under the sun, but none have been a long-term success. On most I managed to lose only 1-2 stone (6-13 kg), but I always seem to end up putting all of the weight back on again, plus more. I’ve become depressed about my weight and how I consistently fail to shift it. I can see why I should be able to do something about it, but I just don’t have the drive to do anything about it any more. Being overweight has depressed me throughout my whole adult life. Over the last five years it’s got even worse.
Everything I’ve tried has failed. During the fast six months I’ve sought help from my doctor, a specialist and a hypnotherapist. None have helped. You’re my last hope.
Still Steadily Losing Weight
She knows that her weight will naturally stabilize around her ideal. If it’s a little more, so what? A little less, so much the better. She is no longer obsessed by either her weight or her food. She doesn’t suffer from depression, anxiety or guilt. Instead, she focuses on seizing all that life has to offer in the secure knowledge that she’s losing weight steadily and healthily.
Since contacting me, Johanna has enrolled on a health research program I told her about. She’s been losing weight in a steady, healthy way ever since. She completed the program in one month as planned and lost 7 lb (3.2 kg) in weight. Five months later she had lost a further 2 stone (15.5 kg). And guess what? She is still steadily losing weight because of the long-term lifestyle changes made possible by following a healthy and normal eating plan.
My friend now realizes the reasons why diets have never worked for her, for you, or for practically anyone else.

Weight Loss Tips – Is Your Diet Secretly Making You Fat?
Is your diet secretly making you fat by forcing you to eat more than you should?
By restricting what you can and can’t eat, most diets mean that lots of your favorite foods are now forbidden. Realistically how long do you think you can live for and not eat your favorite foods? And if you could, would life really be that much fun?
Restrictive diets don’t work – and scientific research has proven it.
Most people find food less appealing when they have already eaten. In one scientific study, slim people rated food as less desirable after they had eaten a lot of it. Overweight people didn’t. They thought it tasted just as good even when they’d eaten platefuls of it.
Diets sound great in theory, but they all share a major flaw; it’s extremely difficult to endure intense food cravings for any length of time. To make matters worse, you are surrounded by temptation. You know that forbidden fruit is the sweetest of all. And to add insult to injury, diets focus on food, which means they constantly remind you about the things you cannot have.
If you possess immense willpower you can put up with the cravings for a while. But the chances are you won’t be able to live like that for the rest of your life. So eventually you’11 abandon the diet and go back to your normal way of eating. Once again, your bad habits will have got the better of you.
For a diet to work, then every day – for the rest of your life – will have to be a diet day!
And who wants to spend their life like that? Dieters tell us they wake up in the morning and the first thing they think of is food. Images of toast, chocolate, cakes and chips float through their minds. There’s not a lettuce leaf in sight.
Through an immense effort of will, these thoughts are pushed aside. This obviously makes you unhappy. So if you’re on a diet, the first thing you feel in the morning is a lingering sense of unhappiness, of paradise lost. It takes a lot of willpower to force yourself to continue living like this for any length of time. The sensual temptations are just too powerful to ignore. How long can you remain in a constant state of self-denial? Is it really possible to be restrained all of the time? Quite simply, no it isn’t. We’re not designed that way. We are hedonists who will always get our pleasures in the end. And the constant denial is not just miserable, it also induces feelings of anxiety and despair. Not only are these feelings just as corrosive as hunger, they are infinitely more damaging psychologically.
The results have been used by relief workers helping the victims of famine and natural disasters ever since. Interestingly, as soon as the conscientious objectors started to lose weight, they became obsessed with food. They spent inordinate amounts of time chatting about food, planning meals and creating recipes. In short, they developed an almost pornographic obsession with food. Sound familiar?
To illustrate the point, in the 1950s, a group of conscientious objectors in America embarked on a controlled hunger strike to see how extreme lack of food affected the human body. In essence, they were starved, studied and brought back to health.
Trying not to think about food, when you are famished, is virtually impossible. And thinking about food inevitably leads to one thing – eating it.

Great Running For Weight Loss Tips
Today I want to give you some great running for weight loss tips. In other words, I want to show you how to get the most out of your workouts in the shortest amount of time.
Just know this, the long and steady paced jog is not the most efficient way to go about things. I’ll explain below.
Running For Weight Loss Tips
Do plenty of sprints
Sprints are great because the intensity of the exercise burns off fat like nothing else can. You also burn fat for hours after you are done exercising. This isn’t possible with a long and steady jog. Only sprints have the ability to do that for you.
Here’s the way to do it. Sprint at about a 90% effort for up to 15 seconds and then take it down to a slow jog or walk for about a minute. Then just keep repeating this cycle for a total of 15 minutes.
Try to do this at least 3 times a week.
If you really do these and put in a good effort, it’s almost impossible not to lose weight doing this.
Sprints on hills
Just run as fast as you can to the top of the hill. You can rest when you back down. Keep running up the hills and walking back down for 15 minutes straight.
This is an even more advances version of sprints. You may not have hills near you, and if that’s the case just get on a treadmill and improvise. But for those who do have hills near them, I’ll explain how this works.
So, if you were looking for some running for weight loss tips, give those 2 a try.

Weight Loss Tips to Help You Get Your Ideal Body
For some of us, finding good weight loss tips is sort of like having a giant puzzle that we need to spend a lifetime solving. Someone can sit by and watch for years as their friends lose weight successfully, and they continue to struggle just to lose a few pounds. Part of the reason is that lots of people try ineffective and unhealthy fad diets. Follow these weight loss tips, and you can’t help but start to live a healthier, longer, and thinner life.
More than your diet, becoming active and staying that way is key to getting in shape. But most people, when hearing “exercise”, think of calisthenics. Sure, you can do sit-ups and push-ups if you like, but exercise goes way beyond your old school gym classes.
The same principle applies to eating right. Most people thinking of healthy diets picture tons of raw vegetables, and no fats or sweets.
Take part in an aerobics or dance class, try spinning, ride a bike, swim, or jog. Even walking for 30 minutes a day is good exercise. You don’t need to do the exercises that you don’t like, you just need to be active.
You do need to cut down on saturated fats like butter, pre-made meals and fast food, but you can’t expect anyone to quit fat and sugar cold turkey. You should still have things you love to each, just less often and in smaller portions. Also think about enrolling in a cooking class that will teach you to prepare a variety of healthy and delicious foods.
After mastering those two steps, this one will be easier to take. Cheating on your plan is only cheating yourself, and you’ll feel bad afterwards. If cheating is irresistible, don’t give up; just change your routine so you can follow it.
Besides self-discipline, you need to stay in the proper frame of mind. Our society is obsessed with instant gratification, so lots of people who think it takes too long to diet consider surgery in order to lose fat.
You won’t lose weight quickly if you’re treating your body right, so be sure to enjoy the little victories. Have pictures of yourself taken each week to see the effect the diet has on your body. You can weigh yourself, but keep in mind that weight fluctuates based on numerous factors. You can lose up to 2 or 3 pounds every week by following proper weight loss tips, or even less over time. But it’s very possible to lose one or two pounds every week.

Weight Loss Tips – Fat Loss
Are you looking for fat loss? If so, I’m going to share some simple weight loss tips that get big time results. Some of the tips I’m going to share you may not have heard of before. Just keep reading and I think by the time you are done reading, you’ll have a better idea how to quickly loss weight and keep it off.
Weight Loss Tips – Fat Loss
If you only did one exercise to drop weight, walking up and down the stairs would be enough. It’s simple, yet powerfully effective. All you need to do is find access to stairs. I’ll leave that part of it up to you. And you just need to do this fifteen minutes everyday. Don’t tell me you can’t squeeze that into your schedule. It doesn’t matter how busy you think you are.
Just find some stairs and keep walking up and down them for fifteen minutes straight. Do this six days a week. That’s not even one and half hours out of the entire week. I know you can do that! And you’ll be glad you did because you will see results on your scale and in our mirror.
Drink two protein shakes everyday
By doing this, you’ll be replacing bad calories for good calories. Your hunger will be satisfied and you’ll feel full. So, if you are popping diet pills, stop that right now. That won’t get you anywhere. They are a waste of time and money. If you really want to achieve some significant fat loss, put these weight loss tips to work and get some quick and longstanding results.
This is a great strategy for naturally reducing the amount of food eaten at other times throughout the day. You just won’t have room in your stomach because you’ll be full. But protein shakes are not meant to replace regular meals. Think of them as a big snack or mini-meal.
